We have our own favorite sins. Let’s admit it. Even though we are already Christians, we know we still struggle with our thoughts, our actions, our speech and our motives. The particular sin we are finding hard to let go of is our pet sin. Because it is our pet, we can’t imagine life without it. We want to see it often. We want to touch it. We want to feed it.

Now, what if I tell you to stab your rabbit with a knife? Will you do it? Of course you will hesitate. That’s yours. So, I need to convince you and motivate you to do it. After you find enough motivations to do it, then you also need the resolve and the power to do it.

God, through the apostle Paul, commands us to kill all remaining sins in our life, “If you walk according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” (Rom. 8:13).

So, what does it mean to kill sin? What are the motivations we need for killing remaining sins in our life? How can we have the power to do it?
