Warrior of a King

My friend Frank Narra wrote this poem entitled Warrior of a King. He wrote this last May 21 “praying that more men would rise up and live their identity as our King’s warrior.”

O man of God be awakened from your slumber
Put your sword upfront and defend your sister
Rise up King’s warrior
Put on your armor

You’ve been enslaved by your ambition
Paralyzed by your fear
Come out young man
Stop hiding from the cave

Shun away the darkness
Fight for His light
Reclaim His Kingdom
Conquer His land

You are a man of God
You are a warrior of a King
You will draw strength from Him
His glory will be your dream

The Lord is your strength and song
Exalt and honor Him
The Lord is a warrior
The Lord is His name

The last part is taken from Exodus 15:2-3, “The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is His name” (HCSB).

May God indeed raise up more men who will not only praise Yahweh by singing that he is a “Warrior King” but by being a “warrior king” like him, living in the strength of his might. After all, that’s part of what it means for a man to be created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).

What are some of the practical ways men can live their identity as “warriors of the King”? Share your answers by commenting below…
